Does Liffer really work without internet?
Yes. You only need a connection to download the app, content packs, and the optional AI model. After that, everything — search, reading, bookmarks, history, and the AI assistant — works fully offline, including in airplane mode.
Where does the content come from?
Liffer's packs are adapted from established open encyclopedic sources and optimized for offline reading. The content is general reference material, not professional advice. In a real emergency, call your local emergency number whenever possible.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts in Liffer at all — nothing to sign up for, no email to hand over. Everything is stored on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.
What does the on-device AI assistant do?
It's an optional feature. If you enable it, the app downloads a compact language model (~1 GB, one-time, Wi-Fi recommended) that runs entirely on your phone. You can ask questions in plain language and it answers using the articles in your installed packs as context. Your questions and the AI's answers never leave your device.
The free version includes 5 AI questions a day; Liffer Pro removes the limit.
What's free and what's in Liffer Pro?

- Liffer Pro (€19.99, one-time): every content pack — Science, History, Geography, Astronomy, Mathematics, and all future packs — plus unlimited AI questions. No subscription, yours forever.
I bought Pro on another phone. How do I get it back?
Open Settings → Restore purchase while signed into the same Apple ID. Your unlock transfers automatically — it's tied to your Apple ID, not the device.
How big are the content packs?
- Content packs: roughly 5–20 MB each — the whole library fits in less space than a short video.
- Optional AI model: ~1 GB, one-time download.
How do I update content packs?
Open the app while connected to the internet — installed packs are kept current automatically when updates are available. The status bar at the top of the app shows when everything is up to date.
The app is crashing on my device. What should I do?
Try these in order:
- Force-quit and reopen the app.
- Restart your phone.
- Make sure you're on the latest app version in the App Store.
- Free up storage space — the AI model alone needs ~1 GB plus working room.
- If none of that helps, email vaidotas@holdmylemonade.com with your phone model, iOS version, and a description of when it crashes. We'll fix it.
Can I use the app on an iPad?
Liffer is currently designed for iPhone. It can be installed on an iPad, where it runs in iPhone compatibility mode. A proper iPad layout is on the roadmap.
Is my data ever sold or shared?
No. See the Privacy Policy for full details. The short version: everything stays on your device, the only thing we ever receive is optional anonymous usage counts, and we never sell or share anything.
